Bill Jones is a writer, illustrator and performer who lives in Stroud. His cartoons have appeared in Private Eye and his first book, an illustrated novel in puns called The Life and Times of Algernon Swift, was published in 2017 and called “sheer relentless glee” by the Times Literary Supplement.

Among other things he has designed a Puzzle Trail around Rodmarton Manor for the Gloucestershire Guild event, Crafts Alive, an Endangered Animals Trail for SIT Select and drawn cartoon strips for children’s magazine Earwig as well as making hand-made books of his own cartoons.

Bill performed as his alter-ego Miserable Malcolm at one of the first events at the Goods Shed in 2017. In the last year, he has ditched this miserable character and now gives cheery talks about Growing Victorians in Your Garden.

He works in black ink on paper. The best way to contact him (about illustration or possible future performances) is via his website billjonesillustration.com which has lots more of this sort of fun! He is also on Twitter as @hawkerspot and Instagram at billjonesillustration.
