Alison studied graphic design and illustration in London in the 80’s, followed by a successful career in design, illustration, and advertising.

In 1994 Alison went freelance as an artist, working on both private and commercial commissions for, amongst others, The National Trust and John Lewis. Many of Alison’s paintings and designs are published under licence as stationery, on china and textiles. Her work is permanently exhibited in a number of galleries and is in many private collections.

Alison works in a wide range of media creating lively paintings which capture the essence of her subject. The focus of her process as an artist is drawing and markmaking. All her work starts with a response to her subject, often in one of her many sketch books which she is seldom without, and many hours spent sketching out in the landscape.
