Charlie’s Angels’ came together in 2021 after Janice Anderson and Anne Cunningham met at Minchinhampton Folk Club. They both have vast experience singing in bands and music venues particularly in the South West. Janice is known locally as one of the blondes in ‘Blondes with Beards’ and as former lead singer with local band ‘Redwing’ & duo ‘Junk’. Anne sang with contemporary folk band ‘Badgers Set’.
Their repertoire is varied but always features strong vocals and harmonies with guitar and uke accompaniment. They sing traditional folk, country, pop and have dipped their toe in the water of writing and arranging a few of their own songs.
They are, whenever possible, joined on stage by Jane Whaley on whistle & clarinet, and Christina Snell on violin. Jane is a seasoned local performer and a regular at Minch Folk Club & other venues, and Christina is one half of successful local band The Peekies.
‘Charlies Angels’ can be seen regularly on Thursday evenings at Minchinhampton Folk Club and at other local live music events. They recently took part in a singer songwriter night at The Carpenters Arms in Miserden, played at the Riverfolk Festival in Lechlade, provided music at a fund raiser for Teckels local animal sanctuary, appeared as guest performers on Radio Winchcombe in Sep, and are proud to support and play at the Folk at the Folk event at the Museum in Gloucester, and are part of the annual Gloucester Folk Trail. They also support the Stroud Seatery, a community project bringing people of all ages together for lunch and music every Friday lunchtime throughout the summer.
