This week we have a real treat for you.  Three musicians perform a programme of songs and piano music featuring works by Schubert, Brahms, Clara Schumann as well as composers of the Twentieth Century.

THE PERFORMERS

Chloe Newman – recently graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in the summer of 2021 where she studied under the prestigious tutelage of Irish soprano, Suzanne Murphy. During her time there she performed many choral works with the BBC chorus of Wales, including requiems by Mozart, Faure and Britten. She was also part of the college’s Chamber Choir and has put on many solo concerts and had solo roles in opera productions.   Since graduating, Chloe has started working full time for a law firm in central Bristol whilst the music industry recovers from the effects of the pandemic.

Kirsty Clarke – coming from a musical family, she made an early start on, violin and classical guitar, before settling for the piano.    After a long break from playing, her interest was later regenerated,  becoming an Associate of Trinity College of Music. By this time her work in schools included teaching music as well as having a private pupil practice.  Kirsty is an enthusiastic member of the Bristol Piano Club.

Graham Newman – studied piano with Sidney Harrison and James Gibb at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. After graduation he took up his first post at Trent College near Nottingham, later moving on to become Director of Music at Lichfield Grammar School for boys and later, Chipping Sodbury.  He and Margaret, his wife, now run the Bristol Piano Club and they rehearse and manage the choir at Horton Church.
