Cotswold Camerata is a chamber orchestra formed in 2012 by Ian Higginson in order for its players to perform public concerts to a high standard, whilst still having fun.
Their first public performances were given whilst on concert tour in Belgium. The Orchestra consists of a group of trained and enthusiastic professional, semi-professional and good amateur orchestral musicians who live and work in the Cotswold area.
The standard of the players ranges from Grade 8 through to music degree/diploma level and they are ably led by Ben Hall.
Whilst the chosen programmes are appealing and varied, they usually focus on repertoire from either the classical period, or music with chamber orchestra-size scoring. Cotswold Camerata aims to perform about three concerts per year and the concerts are held in different venues principally within the Cotswold area.
A chamber orchestra that aims for high standards, whilst still recognising that playing is fun!
