How do you find lasting love in today’s world? For documentary-maker and dating app addict Zoe (Lily James), swiping right has only delivered an endless stream of Mr. Wrongs, to her eccentric mother Cath’s (Emma Thompson) dismay.

For Zoe’s childhood friend and neighbour Kaz (Shazad Latif), the answer is to follow his parents’ example and opt for an arranged (or “assisted”) marriage to a bright and beautiful bride from Pakistan.

As Zoe films his hopeful journey from London to Lahore to marry a stranger, chosen by his parents, she begins to wonder if she might have something to learn from a profoundly different approach to finding love.

Reviews:

Written by Jemima Khan and directed by Shekhar Kapur, ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It?’ is an easy-breezy romantic comedy infused with warmth and lightness.

The Academy Award-winner’s skillful steering of characters allows the movie to showcase a diverse milieu rather than become a narrow East versus West portrayal.

What’s Love Got to Do with it? earns a happily-ever-after ending.

Better late than never … I watched ‘what’s love got…’ as a 4th generation Brit born Pakistani, at 1st entering the theatre on my own in a predominantly Scottish crowd I sank deep in my seat getting ready to cringe and be embarrassed. However Well done! I sat proud 10 mins into it Bravo

This is such a great story, romantic and funny with some great one liners! My favourite characters Pakiza Baig, who plays grumpy Nani Jaan is hilarious and I can’t believe she is new to acting and Jeff Mirza, who plays Zahid, as funny and convincing as ever. I didn’t want it to end!!
