From London to Broadway and Back

Judith will talk about her years as producer for one of the world’s most renowned touring theatre companies and explain how a small piece of work that starts in the subsidised sector can end up on Broadway. She’ll also talk about leaving a secure job in her 50s to start her own theatre production company and produce work that she feels particularly relevant, especially nurturing the next generation of theatre makers.

Judith Dimant Is a theatre producer. She was Executive Producer for internationally renowned theatre company Complicite for 25 years where she produced 27 shows, touring to over 30 countries (including Broadway and the West End).  She also oversaw the development of a highly successful award winning creative learning programme.   She has recently started a new theatre production company – waywardproductions.co.uk

Wayward’s inaugural production was Grief is the Thing with Feathers by Max Porter starring Cillian Murphy which played in London and New York earlier this year.  The company’s next production is an adaptation of the best selling nursing memoir The Language of Kindness by Christie Watson. The book was a BBC Radio 4 Book of the Week in 2018 and is a Sunday Times Bestseller. It will be produced in 2020 – International Year of the Nurse.

In 2014 Judith was awarded an MBE for Services to Theatre
