Tetbury Resident- Roger Daynes was a meteorologist with British Antarctic Survey spending almost three years in Antarctica based at Halley Bay, on the Caird Coast shelf ice of the Weddell Sea. Hand stitched stories with Sabine Kaner - using a variety of textile-based mixed media techniques and featuring repurposed clothing, including garments that have personal and autobiographical connections which are integral to the stories that she is portraying.
Drawing inspiration from Eastern print culture, notably Japanese woodblock prints, Rod Nelson has developed a style that is recognizably his own. In his own words, it is ‘rooted in an appreciation of flowing lines, and the energy that seems to arise from the discipline necessary to portray flow’.
