The Shed Sessions arose from a desire to find a way to bring performing artists and our audience together during the many months of the government’s blanket ban on live performances. Attracting many hundreds of followers to the Shed Sessions Facebook group, the initiative enabled artists to pick a selection from their video archive and add colour with recorded clips of themselves talking about their work. Or in some cases, like Gerard Logan’s reading of Oscar Wilde’s The Star Child, they recorded a set especially for The Goods Shed audience.

Holder & Smith – 17 March 2021

Ben Holder and Stuart Carter-Smith’s Shed Session was a 45-minute feast of high energy, Django Reinhardt-inspired jazz. “Fireworks” is a word often used in connection with their performance style and their compilation for the Shed Sessions Facebook Group, featuring performances recorded in places as diverse as the Albert Hall and Paddington Station, fully lived up to that description.
