Free admission<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The exhibition runs from Wednesday 16th February through to and including Sunday 27th March 2022.\u00a0 \u00a0Opening times are 11-4pm Wednesdays through Sundays. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays and occasionally for other events in the main hall – we recommend you call first if travelling a distance to avoid disappointment. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Valerie often combines both Calligraphy and Botanical Art in her creative work.\u00a0 She has designed a flower decorated alphabet Alphabetica Botanica, which is used for decorative pieces and a successful range of greeting cards.<\/p>\n

Another interest is Butterflies. She has painted a large selection of mainly life size British studies on vellum to celebrate 100 years of the National Trust.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Ever since winning an art scholarship at the age of thirteen Valerie has pursued a career in both calligraphy and botanical art.<\/p>\n

She is a Fellow of the Society of Botanical Artists, member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, The Birmingham Watercolour Society, The Calligraphy and Lettering Artists Society and others.<\/p>\n

Valerie has exhibited in many shows in the UK also abroad where she has won numerous awards. At the London RHS Botanical Art Shows she has been awarded Three Silver Medals also a Silver Gilt Medal for her portrayal of British Wild Orchids. Valerie has also shown with the Society of Women Artists.<\/p>\n
