This week it is the turn of John Nicol and his band Echo Canyon who, although being a full electric band offer will be performing ‘unplugged’ bringing our audience a quieter, more intimate offering of stripped-back, laid-back material.  John will be joined by Lucy on vocals together with Doug their guitarist.

Musically the roots of Echo Canyon can be traced back to the legendary Laurel Canyon neighbourhood of Los Angeles.  From the mid 60’s to the early 70’s some of the most melodic, atmospheric and laid back rock and folk music was written.  Echo Canyon ‘s music has elements of these genres and that era in its sound but also a more contemporary feel, being likened to Dawes and Fleetwood Mac.

Echo Canyon  are releasing their debut album First Light – Old Shadows in September this year.

Do come along – maybe meeting friends or making new ones enjoying some lovely music.  Admission is just £2.50 (plus booking fee)  Our Whistle Stop Café will be open if you fancy a nice cup of tea (or coffee) and perhaps a piece of cake.
