ARTIST Maggie Shaw tries to capture those elusive moments we can all relate to. When the world, just for an instance, seems to stand still, frozen in that stillness.
Her paintings are an attempt to capture the transient, continually evolving nature of the earth.
Pulse. Gesso, acrylic and oil on canvas
We are exhibiting Maggie’s newest work as an abstract painter, although she says that the basic concepts behind her work haven’t changed over the years. They reflect the way she feels about life and living. She feels she is a part of the earth in the same way as a tree, river or stone.
“Seeing the strata of a cliff face I like to imagine myself as a tiny fragment in some future layer”.
