A departure from her previous work, this new series of acrylic on canvas explores the distorted world of the negative image using vivid colour and tonal light.
The viewer is “taken to another dimension or transported into a David Lynch film……stuffed with silks, velvet, puppets, circuses and vivid fields like in a dream”. Betsy Vriend
Gillian whose studio is in Frampton on Severn, first came to the Cotswolds to study at The Gloucestershire College of Art. She later went on to do an MA at The Royal College of Art, London. Gillian has painted murals and backdrops for film, theatre and photography and has exhibited her paintings in London, throughout Europe, India and the USA.
